Mitsubishi Motors, the well known Japanese car brand has rolled out its electric car in European auto market. It is being known that gradually the demand for the small electric cars is increasing globally and the auto giant is well prepared to cater to this demand in the world auto market.
As per the media reports, the Japanese auto giant has declared that the company has begun manufacturing “i-MiEV” known as Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle, for European auto markets since the month of October and has imported 2,500 cars till now.
As per the reports, the Japanese auto market is rolling out the electric car in as many as 15 countries like Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, France and Britain. It is also expected that Mitsubishi will also launch its electric car in four other European countries. Mitsubishi is also keen on spreading its electric car in different parts of Europe. The Japanese auto giant in 2009 introduced its zero emission car in its home ground and is doing quit well as the electric car moves quietly and accelerates quickly. The running cost of the car is one third of the other petrol cars available.
Back home, in India the craze still lies in the small car segment, various auto makers are investing in this segment which holds 70 per cent of the domestic market share. Mitsubishi is also planning to enjoy the growth in the B+ auto segment and is working towards the development of its hatchback which it plans to bring in the coming three years' time. The new hatchback from Mitsubishi Motors will compete with Maruti Swift, Fiat Punto, Nissan Micra, Maruti Ritz, Volkswagen Polo and Maruti Ritz.
